IDP recently launched another responsive website design project, this one for The Auto Clinic. Most of our new web design projects are built on responsive design templates. Responsive means that the web site automatically grows and shrinks to the available screen space. This allows the web site to work on desktop computers, laptops, tablets and mobile web sites. The advantage is that you can read the web site on your phone or tablet without having to zoom in on the content and push it around. It is mobile and tablet friendly. Another advantage is that you don’t have to build a separate website for your mobile site, which reduces maintenance costs down the road.
The Auto Clinic of Lees Summit was one of our first customers 10 years ago! We were happy and flattered that we got the opportunity to build their new web site. The web site is a WordPress content management system so that the client can login to the site and manage the pages and content. The WordPress template was built on the Skeleton Responsive framework. The Skeleton framework is a lightweight responsive template that allows us to build a custom WordPress skin. We have worked with a lot of responsive design templates and most of them are very hard to work with. Less is more. Unless you find a template that is exactly what you want. Customizing a pre-made WordPress template to suit the client needs is not very much fun. It is best to use a very lightweight framework that allows you to build a custom design.
The new web site features a new video on the home page, scrolling testimonials, drop down navigation menu, Google map, Specials, several submit forms, search engine optimization and automotive car care tips and advice.
